Inter-kongres Međunarodne unije antropoloških i etnoloških znanosti (IUAES) pod naslovom World anthropologies and privatization of knowledge: engaging anthropology in public održao se od 4. do 9. svibnja u Dubrovniku. U okviru pod-teme World anthropologies: peripheries strike back, a kao doprinos istraživačkom projektu HRZZ br. 5106, organiziran je panel pod naslovom Spiritual kinship in the European peripheries. Svrha panela bila je istražiti mreže kumstava kao sredstava za ostvarivanje društvene integracije i oblikovanje identiteta. Organizatori panela bili su Rina Kralj-Brassard i Lovro Kunčević, istraživači u Zavodu za povijesne znanosti HAZU u Dubrovniku. Na panelu je bilo šest izlaganja u koautorstvu, a teme su pokrivale različite aspekte kumstava na europskim periferijama u razdoblju od 16. do 21. stoljeća.
